In short, the game (at launch) will have 2 types of mechanics: Gaming and Earning. Future releases and updates to the game will see newly added functions and gameplay features.

Gaming: can be enjoyed by players with Match3 (PvP Battles) and Farming (producing coins for themselves and for the game’s system).

Earning: comes in the form of Farming and Staking. At HoneyWood there is a heavy emphasis on “producing” throughout the game, which we have made both fun and rewarding via these investment types.

All of the game’s mechanics provide players with an active opportunity to earn HoneyCoin — this is the main currency of the game that will be listed on several crypto exchanges. Players can Stake HoneyCoin and actively earn a passive income, though it must be noted that in order to Stake, a player must have CONE coins also. CONE is an internal management coin, it has a fixed value of 1:10 with HoneyCoin, yet will not actually be used for Staking itself.

Match3 — available in 2 formats: PvP and PvE.

PvP is a battle of one live player against another that goes through the betting system, the player deposits the desired amount of HoneyCoin coins and starts the matchmaking search. After an opponent with the same bet (and similar rank) is found, the game automatically starts.

The mechanics of the game are easy to follow and very familiar to anyone who enjoys gaming (even on the very casual level); you need to collect 3 or more chips in a row, and points will be awarded for each chip. The player who scores the most points wins. The game ultimately consists of 4 rounds, and in each round, the players are given 2 moves. Additional moves are possible with different combinations of chips.

The winning player takes the total winnings (minus the system’s commission, which is redistributed among the Stakers in the game). In the initial release of the game, the PvM mode will be in its most basic form of playability meaning that it won’t have varying difficulty levels or rewards.

Farming is the process of generating/producing HoneyCoin. For Farming, the player will need at least one empty field, one Apiary, and one Bee.

At the beginning of the game, each new player is given 1 field for free. Additional fields need to be bought from the Game Store with HoneyCoin.

Apiaries and Bees can be purchased in the game store too, with HoneyCoin. Apiaries differ in their capacity to hold HoneyCoin and Bees. Bees differ in their degree of susceptibility to air and the rate at which HoneyCoin is generated. In the initial version of the game, Bees won’t be unique tokens but players will be given the opportunity to convert them into a unique NFT (with randomly selected indicators).

The game has natural indicators that affect all players in the entire game. These are: the amount of Air in the game and the Air Purity Index (a fixed indicator in the initial release of the game). The more players that enter the game, the less air there will be, meaning that less HoneyCoin can be generated.

In order to resolve this issue and create a balance in the game, Trees can be planted to increase the amount of air. Players who plant a Tree will be rewarded with CONE for completing the action.

Staking — staked CONE coins allow the player to receive % of all gaming commissions. This % is calculated from the total amount of Staked CONE coins in the system. In addition, for the Staking of coins for 1 a one-year duration, players receive a fixed annual bonus (APR) of 20% of the value of the Stake. Commissions and bonuses are accrued in HoneyCoin. The holders of the Staked coins are therefore fractional owners of the game and have the right to vote in the general voting of the system.

Match3

In PvE mode, the Bears fight against the computer. In this game mode there are no commissions, and also no rewards. This game mode allows Bears with less Match3 experience to practice and gain gaming experience before entering the PvP battle arena. . The PvE mode is great for new Bearss who are just getting to know the game and are not yet ready to buy HoneyCoin (hence, they are Free-To-Play).

In PvP mode, Bears battle against each other for a common deposit of HoneyCoin that only one Bears wins.

The playing field is 7x7, filled with different icons. By moving them (matching) in the correct order, Bears wins points. The game consists of 4 rounds of 2 moves each with the possibility of additional moves.

It is necessary to match combinations of identical icons in a row (vertical or horizontal). Bears can form different combinations:

3 in a row

4 in a row — extra move

5 in a row

In order to engage in a PvP battle, the Bears must deposit a certain amount of HoneyCoin (1–1000). Both Bears make a deposit, however, the winner takes all. The higher the Bears rise in rank, the higher the deposit that becomes available.

Rank — this is a value indicating the Bear’s success in PvP battles. Upon entering the game, the Bears are given a starting rank of 200.

The rank is then calculated depending on the result of the PvP battle:

+15 win, +5 draw, -5 defeat

In PvE mode, the Bears compete against the computer. Such a game is not subject to commissions and therefore rewards are not paid for it. This mode is great for those who are not familiar with Match3 mechanics. It will allow the Bears to gain gaming experience and practice before entering the PvP arena. PvE mode is great for new Bears who are just getting to know the game and are not yet ready to buy HoneyCoin (free-to-play).

To start the game, Bears make a deposit of HoneyCoin in the amount of 1 to 1000.

Earnings from battle are carried out through a system of deposits. Initially, at the initial rank, only one deposit is available — HoneyCoin. The higher the Bears rise in rank, the more the deposits that will become available.

When looking for an opponent, Bears with an equal rank are first searched yet if there is no one available, the range gradually expands over the search time.

Battle

The game takes place on a 7x7 field. Icons are randomly placed on the field consisting of 5 different colors and shapes.

The game consists of 4 rounds. The order of who makes the first move is determined randomly at the start of the game. In each round, the Bear has 2 moves.

The Bear’s task is to collect 3 or more icons of the same color in a row. After Bears collect 3 or more icons of the same color in a row, they disappear from the field. The empty spaces on the field are filled with random icons from above. If the dropped icons form 3 or more in a row, they disappear automatically and new ones fall in their place.

The collected 3 or more icons of the same color in a row disappear from the field. For each matched icon, the Bears receive 1 point.

Points are added to the total points scored by the Bears for the current game.

The Bear’s turn ends after 2 moves in each round. The game consists of 4 rounds. In each round, a Bear has 2 main moves. If during these moves the Bear has collected 4 icons in a row, then they are given a bonus move for each time this happens.

Extra moves

If a Bears collects 4, 5, or more icons in a row, an extra turn is given in the current round.

Timer

A Bears has 30 seconds to make a move in the round as soon as the Bears have been prompted that it is their turn.

If at the end of time the Bears has not made a move, then the move is given to the opponent and it is considered that the Bears has earned 0 points for the current round.

Boosters

Boosters are activated when collecting 4 or more icons in a row. After the disappearance of the icons, a booster appears in place of the swipe.

The Booster also has a color (the color of the disappeared icons, from the match of which it appeared), occupies one cell, and moves around the field like an icon.

To activate a Booster, Bears need to collect it, just as with the icons, in a combination of 3 or more in a row.

There are 2 types of Booster in the game:

Rocket — appears after a match of 4 icons. When activated, it randomly removes a vertical or horizontal line of icons.

Bomb — appears after a match of 5 icons. When activated, it removes all icons within a 2-cell radius of itself.

For each icon removed by the booster, the Bear is awarded 1 point within the current turn.

Determination of the winner

After completing 4 rounds, the difference in points earned by both Bears is calculated.

The Bear with the most points wins.

Results

Victory:

The Bears takes the whole pot

The commission for the game is taken from the winnings

Bear’s rank increases +15

Defeat:

The Bears loses their bet

No commission is taken from the losing Bear, only the bet is deducted

Bear’s rank decreases -5

Draw:

The deposit is divided equally

The commission from the winnings is also distributed equally among the Bears

Both Bears’ rank increases by +5
